[Taken from the archives of Spring 2022] I remember during the pandemic when I used to be so into the Bandori franchise, and Chu2 was one of my favorite characters. I took these past few months to revisit some older memories — In the memorandum, I found this video I edited a while back. I remembered how much the Bandori band, Raise A Suilen, influenced my creative choices throughout the pandemic. After a few years of music school, I decided to check on what has been happening lately in the Bandori franchise. I found out that Raise A Suilen had a story released called Coruscate DNA. Hearing that Chu2 was the focus character, I curiously watched all of the story’s episodes on YouTube. After reading the story, I realized how much I can relate to a character like Chu2. Although we may not have the same ego, her role as an experienced music producer susceptible to inauthentic praise, willing to uncover raw meaning, depth, and most importantly, impact in her music is something that I closely resonate with. As someone who considers production as a calling, I still try to navigate my purpose in the world as a music producer, thinking about how to make these elements effective in my sound. In honor of remembering RAS’s existence and the incredible Chu2 (aka Chiyu Tamade), here is a video where I voice acted as Chu2 in English. I hope you enjoy!
